This is a 64 year old male who came to my practice regarding asymmetry of the upper lip. This patient had undergone a repair of a cleft lip as an infant, and the upper lip on the left side was still somewhat shortened in appearance, causing a gap in the lips and a flat appearing upper lip.
Because this patient was not interested in having his cleft lip repair redone, I offered Restylane to reshape the lip and improve overall symmetry. 1cc of restylane was injected in my office in order to resculpt the lip, providing fullness where it was needed, and recreating some of the normal anatomy.
The patient underwent this procedure without any problems, and was very happy with the immediate improvement in the appearance of his lips.
