- Male Liposuction
This patient is a 57-year-old male who came to my practice for correction of his gynecomastia (excess male breast tissue). He was embarrassed by his appearance and reluctant to wear thin or tight shirts because of the contours of his chest.
I felt that this patient would be an excellent candidate for correction of gynecomastia via power-assisted liposuction and direct tissue removal through the areola. I recommended removing the firm glandular tissue (breast tissue) via a small incision on the underside of the areola, in combination with debulking and smoothing excess fat with power-assisted liposuction.
I performed these surgeries and removed almost 400cc of fat from each side via liposuction and 15 grams of glandular tissue via direct excision. The patient recovered very well and had no significant issues after surgery. He was extremely happy with his new, flatter chest contour and is now much more comfortable with his body.
