- Tummy Tuck
The patient is a 41-year-old female who presented to my office with complaints of breasts which were larger than desired. She also had significant back, neck and shoulder pain due to extremely large breasts. I felt a breast reduction would give the patient significant improvement in her back and neck symptoms, as well as giving her the ability to fit properly into bras and exercise effectively. She was also interested in liposuction of the torso and thighs as well as a tummy tuck due to pregnancy changes.
In surgery, I performed an anchor-scar breast reduction and removed 1,100 grams from the right side and 750 grams from the left due to an asymmetry. I also performed an abdominoplasty and liposuction of the flanks and thighs. The patient had previously undergone cardiac surgery and had an old midline upper abdominal scar with an underlying herniation. A mesh repair of the ventral hernia was performed with Seri silk scaffolding, and excess tissue was resected in this area as well. Once the patient was fully healed from her surgery, she was amazed by the dramatic improvement in her physique.
